Sociable, dynamic and fun, climbing gives you a physical and mental high and is the perfect alternative to gym regimes and exercise classes, providing an engaging workout at a level specific to the individual. It’s also a great way to prove to kids that exercise can be fun!

In 1925, Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis acquired the site which was to become Portmeirion. He had been searching for a suitable site for his proposed ideal village for several years and when he heard that the Aber Iâ estate near Penrhyndeudraeth was for sale, he did not hesitate to make an offer.

Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is well known as a place to experience high speed, high adrenaline adventure, but it’s also home to the Penrhyn Quarry Tour. A great opportunity to learn all about the history of this iconic location, it’s a 90-minute trip up to the top of the quarry at 1,500 feet above sea level, taking in stunning views of the Ogwen Valley, Menai Strait and Snowdonia National Park.

Featuring 21 zip lines and 17 additional elements that include rope bridges, netting, balance boards – even a treetop surfboard, this adventure takes up to 3 hours and is a great team building activity or adventure to enjoy on as a group. It works well as part of a family day out or activity to treat the kids with too, suitable for ages 9+. Also at Zip World Fforest is the Tree Hoppers course, which is Zip Safari’s little sibling, ideal for kids from 5, allowing you to choose the perfect level of challenge.

A challenging underground course, Caverns is a one-of-a-kind experience that takes up to 3 hours and will leave you exhilarated and drained in equal measure. Set in a historic slate mine, the various nooks, crannies, tunnels and chasms have been brought back to life with 13 zip lines, as well as via ferrata, rope bridges, tightropes and more, to push your bravery and endurance to the ultimate test.

For all budding mini-adventurers, Zip World’s Tree Hoppers assault course is the perfect introduction to treetop adventure and outdoor rope courses. Featuring 12 zip lines, there’s plenty of thrills that take place 7 metres above the ground, as well as 22 other elements such as rope bridges, platforms and balance beams.

The perfect introduction to the world of adrenaline adventures and zip lining, Big Red. Once calling Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales its home, it now resides at Zip World Llechwedd. Big Red features two side-by-side lines 30 feet high, making it the perfect thrill for friends and family to race each other to the end.

Magnificent medieval fortress still towers over town after 700 years

Thanks to restored spiral staircases in its great towers you can walk a complete circuit around the battlements of Conwy Castle. We highly recommend it. This is one of the most magnificent medieval fortresses in Europe.

In the distance rise the craggy mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and spread out below you are the harbour and narrow streets of Conwy – still protected by an unbroken 1,400-yard (1.3km) ring of town walls.

The fun never stops at The Fun Centre. Come to the fun centre meet Gog the dragon and enjoy all the different activities. We're open 7 days a week from 10 o'clock in the morning till 8 o'clock at night. Easter to October and have variable opening hours at other times (phone for details).While at the Fun Centre visit Gog's driving school on the top floor. Take the wheel of a variety of different vehicles ranging from a Ferrari to an American truck and then test your driving skill on the Fun Centre's oval track. Fun for the under 4's. Balance and co-ordination classes for pre-school children. All classes are structured and taught by a fully qualified instructor.

Zip World Llechwedd's Bounce Below is a unique experience, which allows you to escape into a world of hidden adventure. So, whether you’re a big kid looking for an hour of the most fun you’ll ever have on a net or if you have little kids of your own looking to have a blast, you’ll love Bounce Below! Spectator tickets are also available if the idea of all that bouncing around is a bit much for you!

Aero Explorer will take you on a high-speed journey across the quarry like never before. Feel the anticipation building as you climb the two spiral towers before launching off and gliding across 400m of track. As you go, you'll soar above the rugged terrain, taking in breathtaking views of the quarry landscape. Whether you're an experienced thrill-seeker or a first-time adventurer, this new experience will surely leave you feeling exhilarated and energised.

Ellis Evans, better known by his Bardic name Hedd Wyn, died during the First World War in 1917. He left a remarkable legacy which can be explored at his home, Yr Ysgwrn in Eryri (Snowdonia). Find out more about our 'solider poet'.

The world’s first underground adventure golf set in a cave is here! Take on the 18-hole course, set deep below the ground in a disused cavern, and only accessible by Europe’s steepest cable railway. Enjoy the impressive display of lighting and interactive elements as you putt your way through the course’s exciting and unique levels, with 4 floors to tackle.

What was Europe's first four-person zip line, Titan is an exhilarating seated zip experience which will see you soaring along the Llechwedd quarry in two different zip zones, alongside up to three other people. Your experience will begin with kitting-up, where members of our talented team will fit you into your harness and give you that all-important safety briefing. You will then walk a short distance through the historical Llechwedd cavern tunnels to the Quarry Explorer ex-army truck, where the adventure truly begins.

Treetop Nets is suspended 60 ft high in the trees, with a series of nets pulled between them to create the ultimate bouncy adventure. Across 250 metres of walkways and several larger netted areas, you can bounce, hop, jump, slide and have a great time in a stunning, natural setting. Being in a forest, it’s also sheltered from high winds and can be enjoyed whatever the weather (just make sure you dress appropriately).

A five-seater swing set 80 feet high up in the air, your group, whether friends, family or complete strangers, will be winched back to a near-vertical position. From there, one brave individual gets the responsibility of pulling the release string and sending you all hurtling towards the ground, before rising up again out towards the valley beyond. Completely gravity driven, you’ll enjoy an incredible sense of speed and weightlessness throughout.

Take flight from the top of the Penrhyn Quarry adventure terminal in this dual zip line adventure ideal for kids or anyone not quite up to the white-knuckle adrenaline rush of Velocity 2. After climbing the steps to the Adventure Terminal terrace, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views of the Penrhyn Quarry site and the bright blue lake below.

Located at the iconic and world-renowned Zip World Penrhyn Quarry site, Quarry Karts is the UK’s only mountain cart experience, seeing gravity fuelled three-wheelers descend an obstacle-filled 3 kilometre slate track. It all begins with transportation up to the top in our red, military trucks, with the start taking place 1,500 ft above sea level, where you’re treated to incredible views ahead of an intimidating descent that lasts around 3-5 minutes.

Coed y Brenin was Britain's first purpose-built mountain biking centre and it is still one of the sport’s top destinations.

Eight purpose-built mountain bike trails start from the visitor centre and range from easy trails for families and beginners to technical routes for expert riders. Other facilities for mountain bikers include a bike shop and a skills area where you can develop your riding techniques.
